Richard Williams is a Managing Director at B. Riley Farber. His practice focuses on financial advisory services, corporate restructuring and cross-border restructuring.
Richard has spent more than 20 years in corporate reorganization and restructuring in a variety of roles ranging from operations management to strategic financial advisor. He has worked with small entrepreneurs, mid-market family businesses, multi-billion dollar corporations and a wide range of public sector entities.
Richard has extensive experience in advising banks, private debt funds and other lenders in the management of distressed loan positions. He has also advised government agencies, private boards and other stakeholders in industries ranging from film & media to aviation and manufacturing.

- Acted as court-appointed receiver and Ch. 15 Foreign Representative of Antamex Industries ULC, a manufacturer and designer of curtain wall solutions with projects throughout Canada and the US
- Financial advisor to a Schedule 1 Canadian bank in respect of a cross-border transportation group with significant operations in the US
- Trustee in bankruptcy of Enjoy Technology Canada Ltd. in connection with the US Chapter 11 proceedings of Enjoy Technology Ltd.
- Trustee in bankruptcy of Splend Ltd. in connection with its global restructuring proceedings
- Financial advisor to Canada Enterprise Emergency Funding Corporation in connection with a $7 billion COVID loan portfolio to large Canadian employers such as Air Canada, Air Transat, and Porter Airlines
- Court-appointed liquidator of Ontario Electronic Stewardship, an industry funding organization responsible for the management of Ontario’s electronic waste
- Financial advisor to a private debt fund in respect of an $80 million loan to an Ontario-based aviation MRO
- Financial advisor to a private debt fund in respect of a $250 million loan to a direct energy business
- Court-appointed monitor in the CCAA proceedings of SimEx Inc. and Iwerks Entertainment, a film production and technology group with operations throughout Canada, the US and China
- Court-appointed receiver of William Peak Co-operative Homes Inc., a Pickering, Ontario housing cooperative
- Court-appointed receiver of Velocity Asset & Credit Corporation, a sub-prime auto finance company
- Financial advisor to a Schedule 1 Canadian bank in respect of multiple film tax credit loans
