Ryan Adlington is a Senior Managing Director at B. Riley Farber and leads the firm’s Western Canada Restructuring practice. He focuses on restructuring, financial advisory, and interim management roles, for both performing and underperforming companies.
He also specializes in operational review & performance improvement, strategic & business planning, financial due diligence, financial modeling, and insolvency situations & liquidations.
Ryan has significant cross-border experience (US/Canada) having practiced in the United States from 2008-2012. He has assisted clients across a wide range of industries, including:

- One of two lead partners as financial advisor to Canada Enterprise Emergency Funding Corporation, a subsidiary of CDEV, to provide loan monitoring and restructuring/strategic advice in respect of a $7 billion portfolio of emergency loans in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.
- Financial advisor and court-appointed monitor (lead partner) for Tehama Inc. (a technology start-up company) which resulted in a successful sale/restructuring of the company.
- Financial advisor (lead partner) to the lending syndicate of a publicly traded upstream energy producer focused in Western Canada (~10,000 bbl/day), which over a two-year period (various detailed reports, monitoring, and negotiations) resulted in the lending syndicate exiting with a full recovery
- Financial advisor to a cross border indigenous owned aviation company, including review of strategic alternatives, board of directors’ advice and negotiations with various stakeholders.
- Financial advisor to a leading pulp and paper company with facilities in Canada and the USA, including development of financial models, review of cash flow and development of strategic alternatives.
- Court appointed receiver of Ivanhoe Energy Inc., including the development and execution of a sales and liquidation strategy.
- Court appointed CCAA monitor of Great Basin Gold Ltd. a gold exploration and development company with properties in Canada, the United States and South Africa.
- Financial advisor of a publicly listed global gold exploration and production company with properties in Africa.
- Court appointed receiver of Seafield Resources, a developmental gold exploration company with properties Colombia.
- Court appointed Liquidator of the Toronto Branch of Maple Bank GmbH, which included the winding-down and liquidation of approximately $5.5 billion in assets.
- Financial advisor/interim management for a leading helicopter aviation and service company, including review of cash flows and potential restructuring scenarios.
- Financial advisor to the Crown Investment Corporation of Saskatchewan as it related to the restructuring and wind-down of one of its entities, Saskatchewan Transportation Company.
